Speed Skating - Beginner to Advanced Programs The RHSSC program is run under the direction of coaches who have successfully completed National Coaching Certification, and covers both the short track and long track disciplines. Regular ice practices incorporate several components such as warm up, technical focus, warm down, games, healthy competitiveness, and fun. The primary goal is to teach skaters to be competent on speed skates through focus on the 5 basic speed skating skills as implemented through the “Cutting Edge Pin Program”. Skaters who successfully complete specific skill levels are awarded their respective pins at the end of the season.
